Pupil Premium information

Early Years Pupil Premium and Pupil Premium funding

In the last few years, nurseries, schools, childminders and other childcare providers have been able to claim additional funding for children in their setting through the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) and school Pupil Premium (PP).

The EYPP/PP funding provides our Nursery and school with additional funding for children whose parent/s may be in receipt of one of the following:

  • Income support
  • Income-based job seeker’s allowance
  • Income-related employment and support allowance
  • Child Tax Credit – provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income that does not exceed £16,190
  • The guarantee element of the State Pension Credit

The additional funding provides a real boost to the children and enables them to make better progress. For example, it can be used to provide extra English or Maths intervention programmes or additional support for your child, whatever their ability or need. It could also include free access to an activity club run before or after school for children from the second term of F2 onwards. Your child’s Activity Fund can also be paid for from this funding.

If your child is not already receiving the funding and you would like the school to check your eligibility for this, please contact the school office. The information you give on the form will be kept confidential to the school and will only be used for checking eligibility for EYPP or PP via the local authority.
