Shinfield Infant Nursery School Clock Tower

School Clock Tower A.D.1860

Within our historic school we build upon the best of tradition combined with a modern approach.

As a core part of the community, we provide a safe and healthy learning environment.

We develop active learning through a fun, inspiring and challenging curriculum.

We promote equal opportunities, valuing the skills and contributions of all individuals in our school.

We encourage our children to become caring, responsible citizens, respecting all others through self discipline and kindness.

In 1707 Richard Piggott, a local boy who had become a cutler of Westminster, founded the first Shinfield School (now Shinfield Infant & Nursery School). The building was gradually extended by other benefactors and in 1969 the new Junior School was opened just across the road in Chestnut Crescent.

There is a wealth of information about the local community at the Shinfield Parish Council web site where a character statement may also be downloaded.
